As a cross-country, 18-wheel truck driver for a number of years now, I have plenty of time to listen to many inspirational readings. Among them was Alexander Scorby’s audio Bible. Although his readings are wonderful and the only one I would ever listen to, I find Simon Peterson’s version so much more captivating and attention grabbing. It really brings the scriptures to life to where you can almost picture what is happening as you listen. I’m sure this is due to his many year’s as a missionary, serving the Lord in numerous countries. Now Simon Peterson’s Audio Bible is the only one I listen too. I highly recommend it!! Simon Peterson, your voice is very soothing. I’ve been listening to it since I was a small child (mostly at bed time) and it never fails to put me in a relaxed and stress-free mood… I’d like to say that I’m very happy that you chose the original KJV. From China with Love

This has been a month with lots of travel. The Lord opened a door for a ten days English camp in the province of Xichuan. Besides being a blessing for our support, it opened a great door to meet lots of receptive and spiritually hungry teenagers and young teachers to whom we were able to witness about the Lord’s love and His salvation.

There was one special girl called Holly who we met on our second day in the camp. She was spending her vacations at the school since her home town was very far away and she couldn’t afford the trip. On our way out of the school canteen on the second day, she approached us to make friends with us.  While talking with her and getting to know her, she started to share her heart about all the hardships she goes through as a student. We saw this opportunity as the opening for us to introduce her to the Lord. At first she was a little skeptical being a Buddhist, so we simply gave her a couple of tracks to take with her. Two days later we met her again, and this time she looked very happy. After talking a little, she told us that she had prayed and asked Jesus into her heart the night before after reading the tracks we had given her. We were very happy to hear this! For the next few days we spent every afternoon after dinner with her sharing different portions from the Bible. When departing time arrived, tears were falling from her eyes as she had become so close to us and the Lord. We now stay in contact with Holly through the mail. Thank you Lord for another soul in this country so full of darkness!

Something else we have been doing is going to busy areas to pass gospel literature to people in the streets. Even though is a little dangerous, it is not impossible. We shield ourselves with a good prayer and ask the Lord to lead us to those that need Him.  (See photo)
